DIRECTIVE ON INPUT SUPPLY MANAGEMENT This directive establishes the framework for the procurement, distribution, and management of agricultural inputs including seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other inputs needed by farmers in the Oromia Region.
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers vested in the Minister of Agriculture, the following Directive is issued:
1. Purpose
To ensure timely, fair, and transparent distribution of agricultural inputs to farmers while maintaining quality standards.
2. Scope
This directive applies to all input supply programs, agencies, and cooperatives operating under the Oromia Bureau of Agriculture.
3. Procurement Standards
All input procurement shall follow competitive tendering procedures and meet Ethiopian Standards (ETS) certification requirements.
4. Distribution Mechanism
Input distribution shall be done through registered cooperatives and farmer associations to ensure equitable access.
5. Quality Control
All inputs must be inspected by the Quality Control Department before distribution to farmers.
6. Monitoring and Evaluation
Quarterly monitoring reports shall be submitted to the Bureau headquarters.
