Develops watershed management plans, promotes soil and water conservation structures, coordinates terracing and soil-bund construction, promotes water harvesting, rehabilitates degraded land, and promotes community-based watershed management.

Promotes forest development, conservation, restoration, and sustainable forest management. Promotes tree planting and forest restoration, supports community forest management, protects existing forests, promotes sustainable use of forest resources, develops forest management plans, and monitors forest development activities.

Coordinates agricultural and livelihood programs that improve household and community food security. Coordinates food-security programs, supports livelihood development, promotes agricultural production for food security, coordinates food-security projects, monitors beneficiary and program performance, and prepares food-security implementation reports.

Improves soil fertility, soil health, and sustainable agricultural productivity. Conducts soil fertility assessments, promotes soil testing, promotes integrated soil fertility management, promotes appropriate fertilizer utilization, promotes compost and organic soil amendments, develops soil fertility improvement recommendations, and monitors soil fertility trends.
